Wake Forest students came out to Hearn Plaza en masse to rally for the Demon Deacon football team before the opening game of the 2021 season. President Susan R. Wente arrived with the Demon Deacon mascot, on the back of his motorcycle rumbling through the cheering crowd.

President Wente joined Athletic Director John Currie along with women's golf coach Kim Llewellen and her players, the Traditions Council leaders, and the captains of the Spirit of the Old Gold and Black marching band in rallying the students.
