The Face to Face Speaker Forum at Wake Forest University brought critically acclaimed, multiplatinum singer-songwriter and the first African American man to earn Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards, John Legend to the LJVM Coliseum on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

John Legend shared how faith, family, and fearless self-belief shaped his journey. In conversation with Segun Oduolowu, a journalist, anchor, writer, and producer, he reflected on the power of authenticity in art, the importance of grace in justice, and what it means to live Pro Humanitate for the good of others.

The Wake Forest University Chamber Choir, under the direction of Choral Director Chris Gilliam, performed ‘All of Me’ by John Legend to open the event.
