The Wake Forest University Engineering Department strives to be a leader in undergraduate education through a dynamic curriculum that emphasizes innovation, design, interdisciplinary exposure, collaboration and hands-on, experiential learning.
Engineering Week at Wake Downtown will be held February 17-22, and features several events, activities and opportunities designed to provide a look inside the program.
This engaging week includes, but is certainly not limited to, the following events:
Monday, February 17 thru Friday, February 21
A T-shirt contest will be held in the main lobby of Wake Downtown where attendees will pick from a selection of student-created designs and use the automatic heat presses to apply their chosen design. The student whose design is printed the most will be declared the winner.
Saturday, February 22, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Hosted in Wake Downtown Studio 0901 and the lower courtyard, the inaugural Bed and a Book charity event will take place. In partnership with The Allegacy Center for Leadership and Character, engineering students will build beds that will be delivered to community children in need.
Beds designed by engineering students will be 'raced' in a charity event scheduled this April. The Formula Wake Group will collaborate with Richard Childress Racing to lead this project.
Also, on Saturday, February 22, Kaleidium will be hosting Engineering Day, when engineering faculty and students will present a variety of fun, interactive events and activities designed to engage our extended community with a glimpse of what makes our engineering program unique.
